Bilt 2.0 Cards: Activation Guide and What You Need to Know
Are you ready to unlock the full potential of your new Bilt 2.0 card? But here's where it gets controversial... While many are excited about the new features, some are wondering if the transition is worth it. Let's dive in and explore the activation process, the benefits, and the potential drawbacks.
Activation Day: What to Do Next
If you've received your new Bilt Palladium Card, Bilt Obsidian Card, or Bilt Blue Card, it's time to activate! If you haven't applied yet, don't worry; you can still do so, but February 1st was the last date for a "seamless transfer" for those with the original Bilt Mastercard.
Activation Steps: A Smooth Process
Assuming you have your new card in hand, follow these simple steps to activate:
- Open the Bilt Rewards App: Launch the Bilt Rewards app or scan the QR code from the mail you received with your card.
- Activate Card: If using the app, tap "Activate card" in the "Wallet" tab.
- Verify Bank Account: If you haven't confirmed your bank account for rent and mortgage payments, this will come up during activation. Your housing payments will now be debited directly from your linked bank account via Automated Clearing House (ACH).
- Place Phone on Card: Next, you'll be prompted to place your phone on the back of your card to activate. Alternatively, you can select "Enter CVC instead" and choose to activate that way.
- Verify Card Details: After following these steps, your card details will be verified, and your card is officially activated. You'll see a message confirming the activation and receive an email confirmation.
Setting Up Your Housing Rewards Structure
After activation, Bilt will prompt you to add the card to your Apple Wallet. Then, you'll be asked to decide on your housing rewards structure. You can choose to earn 4% Bilt Cash on all purchases or earn up to 1.25 points per dollar spent on rent or mortgage (depending on your non-housing purchases).
Welcome Offers: What You Can Expect
The welcome offers vary depending on the card you selected:
- Bilt Palladium Card: Earn 50,000 Bilt points and Gold status after spending $4,000 on everyday purchases in the first three months. Plus, receive $300 of Bilt Cash when you apply and get approved.
- Bilt Obsidian Card: Receive $200 of Bilt Cash when you apply and get approved.
- Bilt Blue Card: Receive $100 of Bilt Cash when you apply and get approved.
Transitioning from Bilt 1.0 to 2.0
If you didn't transition to a new Bilt card, your original Bilt Mastercard was transitioned into a no-annual-fee Wells Fargo Autograph® Card. To learn more about this card, read our full review.
Bottom Line: A Big Day for Cardholders
The three new Bilt cards are now ready for purchases as soon as you activate them. With valuable Bilt points and rewards, it's a big day for cardholders.
But here's where it gets controversial... Some are questioning the value of the new cards, especially the transition from the original Bilt Mastercard. Is it worth it? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
