Rohit Dhankar, a 26-year-old professional bodybuilder from Rohtak, met his untimely end after a brutal assault by a group of unidentified individuals. The incident unfolded in Bhiwani on Friday night, when Rohit, accompanied by his friend Jatin, intervened in a disturbing situation.
During a wedding celebration, a group of young men from Tigdana village allegedly began harassing girls present at the venue. Rohit, a man of integrity, bravely stood up against this misconduct, sparking a brief argument. The harassers quickly retreated, but their actions had already set in motion a chain of events that would lead to a devastating outcome.
As the wedding festivities concluded, Rohit and Jatin embarked on their journey home. Unbeknownst to them, they were about to encounter a sinister plot. On the road, they were intercepted by a group of 20 attackers armed with rods and sharp-edged weapons. The railway crossing, conveniently closed at that moment, forced them to stop, providing the assailants with the opportunity they needed to surround them.
In a brutal display of violence, Rohit was brutally beaten, with no part of his body escaping the attackers' wrath. Jatin, managing to escape on foot, rushed Rohit to a nearby hospital, where he was later referred to PGIMS, Rohtak. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Rohit succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
