Barmore, a defensive tackle, echoed Diggs’ sentiment, repeatedly stating, “I’m focused on Miami and playing football,” when asked about his misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a household/family member. Charging documents obtained by ABC allege Barmore threw a woman to the floor and grabbed her by the shirt near her neck during an August 8 argument.
But here’s the kicker: Both players are represented by attorney David Meier, who has denied the charges on their behalf. The Patriots organization has also issued a statement supporting Diggs, noting he “categorically denies the allegations.” Coach Mike Vrabel has stressed the team is taking the matter “very seriously” but plans to let the legal process unfold before making further decisions. “I don’t think we have to jump to any sort of conclusions right now,” Vrabel said.
